On August 29 Trinidadians will celebrate their Independents. We rejoice with you. One of the best books i have read is "From Columbus to Castro: The History of the Caribbean 1492-1969columbus to castro " by Eric Williams, former Prime Minister of Trinidad.

There was a time when the Caribbean produced leaders who could rightly be designated as mavericks. Williams was one of those.
